Kevin Keats will return to the sidelines this season after missing two weeks with a concussion, but coach Kevin C. Keatts said Tyler Bray won’t be ready for the bowl game.
Keatts said Bray had a minor procedure to repair a ligament in his left thumb.
He also has been listed as questionable for the Cotton Bowl.
“He had surgery on the thumb,” Keats said.
“So we’re working with the doctor and they’ll have to have that done to know exactly what happened.
So we’ll just see how he does and see what happens.
He’s just got to come back and play and hopefully that’s a positive outcome for him.”
Bray is returning to action following a six-week absence from the team.
He has a season-high three interceptions and four pass breakups.
Kevin Keatts on Tyler Bray: “We’re hopeful he’ll be ready to go.
We’re optimistic he’ll get back to playing.”
Kevin Keats: “The plan is to get him back out there for the season opener.”
Keatts: “Tyler will be out of our thoughts and plans right now.”
